My food journey

Cooking has always been one of my great passions, I love the creativity and for me nothing could be better than sharing a meal with family and friends. In traditional African culture, the communal nature of eating extends to serving food on a single platter so all meals are by definition a family affair. From my earliest memories, in the farm kitchens of my childhood, to the bush camps were I would later pass on what I had learned, food has been at the center of my life. It has always been a dream of mine to share these recipes with a wider audience together with insights into the multicultural origins of Southern Africa’s rich and complex food culture.
